Greensmart Pots

It's planting time yet again.  After an absence from gardening have stocked up on salads for this coming spring.  These Greensmart planters are fantastic as they are self-watering, self-fertilising and are elevated - no bending down.  Purchased the stands from Sage Horticultural products in Cheltenham, specially designed for these pots.

This planter has corn salad, spinach, 2 strawberry plants and lettuce.

This planter has the same but pak choy in stead of spinach.   In the garden beds I have perpetual spinach, rhubarb, parsley and various herbs.  This year will plant some tomatoes.    

Nagami Cumquats

I think it's going to be a bumper year for cumquats - not quite ready yet.   These are not the variety for jam but they are lovely to eat straight from the tree.  Now all we need is a bit of sunshine.

I'm determined this year to become self-sufficient in the produce department - the prices of some fruit and vegies are ridiculous when you can grown your own - tastes so much nicer!!!!
